 Felicia Lily Tran Chen, O.D.

 

Dr. Lily Chen graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Biology and minor in Chemistry. She went on to earn her doctorate at New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. She received clinical training in ocular disease focusing on glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration, as well as trained in hard-to-fit contact lenses. Dr. Lily understands the value of healthy eyes and wants all to have the best quality of life through clear vision. She has spent time volunteering in the Dominican Republic, helping with free eye exams and distributing free eye wear to those with limited access to eye care. Dr. Lily is currently a member of the Board of Trustees for the Northern Virginia Optometric Society.

A fun fact about Dr. Lily: She was born and raised in the same town as where the finish line to the Iditarod dog sled race is - Nome, Alaska. When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Lily enjoys testing new recipes in the kitchen for her toddler son and spending time with her two small dogs, Izzey and Pepper. 

Dr. Lily is fluent in Vietnamese, and can also complete eye examinations in Spanish. 

 Alicia Kim, O.D., FAAO

 

Dr. Alicia Kim, a Northern Virginia native, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Virginia Tech and her doctorate from the State University of New York College of Optometry. Dr. Kim practices full-scope optometry with extensive experience in family eye care, ocular disease, contact lens fitting, and dry eye therapy. She completed her residency in Primary Care with emphasis in Ocular Disease at Salus university, where she received advanced training in emergency eye care and ocular disease. Upon graduation, she received the Dr. M. Cohen Memorial Award for Volunteer Commitment to Community Service. Dr. Alicia has lectured in multiple continuing education courses and has published an article with the Review of Optometry. Dr. Alicia is dedicated to providing quality eye care and enjoys building personal relationships with her patients and their families.

Dr. Alicia loves to travel and give back to the community by working in underserved areas with her church. When she is not busy traveling, she enjoys trying different cuisines, hiking, and playing with her beloved pup, Valentine.

 

Dr. Alicia is conversational in Korean, and can also complete an eye exam in Spanish.

Elizabeth Choi, O.D., FAAO

 

Dr. Elizabeth Choi is a Baltimore native who earned her B.S. degree in Neuropsychology from Boston College, and her doctorate from The State University of New York College of Optometry. She completed her residency in Ocular Disease at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center, including training at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Medicine Wilmer Eye Institute. During her residency she was awarded the Gold Pin Award in recognition of excellence in patient care.

 

Dr. Choi has presented academic posters at multiple national optometric conferences, presented continuing education to her optometric colleagues, and participated in clinical trial studies. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and a member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association, and of the Northern Virginia Optometry Society.

 

Dr. Choi's passion is in providing comprehensive eye care that emphasizes patient education and achieving all her patients' visual and health goals. She specializes in ocular disease, advanced dry eye therapy, and refractive surgical co-management. In her free time she enjoys reading, painting, and scrolling through dogs on Instagram.

Ted Chen, O.D.

 

Dr. Ted Chen earned his doctorate from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. Prior to earning his doctorate, he trained at Miami Dade College to obtain an Associate in Science in Opticianry. Having served as an optician, and currently practicing as an optometrist for the past decade, he understands the fine points of eye care, and why it is truly important to have the eyes checked regularly. Dr. Ted diagnoses ocular problems to which we may not know we are prone. He will fit you for glasses, as well as for contact lenses. His own vision of optometric care is one of perfection, and he provides top-notch attention for all of his patients. 

Outside of the office Dr. Ted finds a healthy balance in weight training and playing video games. He has a big sweet tooth and loves drinking bubble tea.

Dr. Ted is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
